Global Director for Low Carbon Future, The Nature Conservancy (TNC)

Mark Lambrides, Global Director for Low Carbon Future, manages TNC’s programs to address low carbon energy developments around the world. The Low Carbon Future program seeks to accelerate the deployment of sustainable, renewable energy solutions, while avoiding conflicts with nature and people. Mark has extensive experience in international finance and policy institutions where he has designed multi-stakeholder initiatives in the renewable energy and energy efficiency arena.  Most recently, at the World Bank, he managed the preparation and implementation of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and grid rehabilitation project investments in Latin America and the Caribbean.  Previously, he developed the sustainable energy program at the Organization of American States (OAS), where he directed energy policy and technical assistance initiatives for fifteen years. Prior to that, Mark worked for several private companies and a renewable energy trade association.  He earned a master’s degree in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of The Johns Hopkins University and has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Kalamazoo College.
