Deogratius Kimera

Country Director – Ghana, USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Project, Chemonics International

Deogratius (Deo) Kimera has more than 20 years of international experience in health systems strengthening, including 14 years serving as a chief of party or country director for centrally awarded, multilateral USAID health supply chain projects in Botswana, Tanzania, and Ghana. Mr. Kimera has worked in health supply chain management in Uganda and played a pivotal role in the setup of PEPFAR by supporting the HIV logistics systems in Nigeria under the Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria project.  Knowledgeable of the core functions of health commodities and supply chain management, Mr. Kimera has experience engaging with multiple partners involved in health service delivery. This includes the Global Fund, PEPFAR, USAID, the former UK Department for International Development (DFID), the World Health Organization, ministries of health, and other host-country institutions. By profession, Mr. Kimera is a public health specialist and a pharmacist with demonstrated skills in leading supply chain projects for HIV/AIDS; malaria; maternal, newborn, and child health; and family planning.
