Mark Keenan is the Program Manager for an international auditor fellowship at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). In this role, he leads the planning and execution of an intensive 4-month program that annually brings mid-senior level professionals from international institutions to undergo training in performance auditing and leadership. This 40-year program provides support to GAO counterpart Supreme Audit Institutions with the aim of improving the effectiveness of public administration and accountability worldwide. In addition, Mark helps lead initiatives involving capacity development for the international auditing community.  

Prior to leading the fellowship and capacity development areas, Mark worked on a variety of natural resource and environment issues as a senior analyst at GAO. Mark also served as an Advisor with GAO’s Professional Development Program, where all entry-level staff complete a two-year program of on-the-job and classroom training and exposure to different projects and management styles.
